My mother's side is Italian so I'm spoiled with homemade

Ha! That’s the ONLY marinara sauce we use, in this house.
In fact, I just made our keto lasagna with it, tonight.
YUM!!

It used to be. They sold last year and it’s not the same as it was, which is too bad.

You could take all the pasta sauce in the world and shoot it to Mars and I wouldn’t miss it. Especially Maranara sauce.
Italian food is just not my thing and that includes Pizza.

Never! Marinara sauce is just too easy to make myself than to buy any in a jar. My sisters would disown me

We were always spoiled by my husband’s family’s homemade.
The folks are gone now, so we have to figure out how to do it ourselves.
(Everything you can buy in the store is too sweet for us, after so many years of the good stuff.)

I’ve been buying it at Costco.
Makes good pizza sauce, too.

Rao’s is pretty good, but not as good as other jarred sauces w/ San Marzano tomatoes. Victoria is a lot better imo.
Also, the easiest/cheapest/best thing to do is just buy a can of Cento tomatoes and make your own. Just make sure they’re San Marzano tomatoes.

3 lb of overripe puréed Roma tomatoes, some fresh basil, and a little fresh minced garlic. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes. Who needs jarred sauce?

I only started noticing Rao’s in the stores maybe a year ago. Will have to give it a try.
I like to start with canned crushed tomatoes and spices, and cook on very low for several hours with frozen meatballs.

Isn’t that the truth? I hate being able to taste sweetness in pasta sauce. In anything, really.

I married an itlalian girl and with her came her mom who was the best Italian cook you are going to meet. She taught her daughter well.
Making homemade sauce is so easy, and you can freeze it. My wife now makes a big pot and we freeze it to use over the next couple of weeks.
I dont think I’ve had jarred sauce in almost 40 years.
