That’s very exciting! Imagine homesteading out there....just incredible!
The Banff Springs is beautiful (at least it was 55 years ago lol). We had to wear our Scottish uniforms with the plaid pleated skirts and the little short jackets and white gloves. Old elevators with the big wheel we had to turn to run them. We had to land them perfectly even....can’t have the customers tripping! I gave an elevator ride to Alfred Hitchcock....and Simon and Garfunkel.
Enjoy - I think the Chateau Lake Louise is still around. Those hotels used to be CP (Canadian Pacific) hotels, owned by the railroad company. They’re all beautiful.

LOL…that is the Prince of Wales hotel in Waterton today. All the male bellhops wear kilts. The hotel opened in 1927 and they adopted the kilts in the mid 50s and still wear them today. They hire lots of young people from Scotland, England and Ireland, too. All very polite and helpful, but you have to listen very closely.
