I’ve had surgery several times, the kind of procedures where general anesthesia would be used. Each time ‘Show Time’ begins, when I’m given that first injection to put me out, I say a prayer and remind myself of how blessed my life has been, how thankful I am for having access to good doctors.

All that being said, I know each serious surgery is a big gamble I have chosen to take. There is a strong liklihood that all will turn out well like the last few times, but nothing is guaranteed.
Nothing at all.

Before my transplant surgery, I told the surgeons and anesthesiologists I had 100% faith in them, that I wasn’t the least bit nervous about the outcome. And I woke up over 8 hours later with no problems.

It’s inconceivable to me that that kind of screw-up could happen.

It was reported when President Reagan was going into surgery after the attempted assassination in 1981, that he asked the surgeon if he was a Republican....or a Democrat..don’t remember which he said but that was funny!!
