The Navy I served in through three Vietnam campaigns no longer exists. The meritocracy that brought about the classical understanding of high morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion is gone. Nostrums from LGBTQ+ and transgenderism, and from the Cultural Marxism of White Privilege and Critical Race Theory impose social imperatives crippling an understanding of what the Navy should be.

One of the most bizarre management slogans I ever heard was “do more but slow down”.

If you read the article, they describe a work center in disarray--test equipment strewn about, can't find a electronic meter that works, very likely that equipment isn't receiving the preventive maintenance that it's due (we used to call that "gun-decking".)

I'm sure there are many reasons for it, but there's a failure of leadership going on in my Navy. Programs like "GRGB" are an after-thought. A cute, catchy little jingle to make it sound like they're doing something to fix a problem.

The principals behind GRGB used to be ingrained in sailors from Day 1; they weren't an add-on once they got to the Fleet. If 25% have bought into it, they should consider themselves lucky--culture change in a global organization is very difficult, but the Navy needs to get there yesterday.
