George Washington wrote his birthdate both ways from time to time. It also trips up genealogists or makes their work more difficult at least.
First light:
Here’s one that has a few dates attached to it. Eventually I was able to clear it up when I found a description from the time, saying that the first lighting was on a Friday night (same as the Julian date here):
“The first lighthouse established in America was on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor and was first lit September 14, 1716.”
