In Europe you are closer to the food source-distance is less, you can have fresh food close by. Not in the US where we have long distances between cities and a consolidation of the food industry ( how many big cities have local dairies? Meat packers? Even bakeries?). Our food has to be able to travel long distances. I heard that in the UK and Europe, they don’t refrigerate eggs, unlike the US. They also inject the chickens there with antibiotics, that is verboten in the US.
