I agree, very well said. I have noticed a pattern of self hindrance. Folks tend to “stay within boundaries their church allows”. And of course the church wants complete dependency on themselves only and retard efforts of self consciousness. It is a false myth that only clergy have the degree and certifications to do this for them.
Self realization of a higher consciousness and connection to God is not in the churches best interests. So these folks limit their own explorations of one on one higher spiritual consciousness without the church as arbitrator. They are encouraged to not think outside the box or for themselves so they don’t.
When a higher consciousness is indeed there for anyone who just takes the time and effort to practice and find it. And once found it opens up a whole new world of realities and truth about everything around you and not just spirituality.

Freedom is a prerequisite to soul growth and attachment hinders it, whether to our physical possessions or dependency upon our government.
Evil seek fear, attachment and dependency to hinder soul growth.
What is unfolding on earth is a battle between good and evil, not Republicans vs. Democrats. You shall know a tree by the fruit it bears.
However, God is in control and what is unfolding is as it must be. For the same reason that there are no atheists in foxholes, we need tribulation to pop the ego bubble so people turn to God in despair. It is coming and it will be beyond difficult, as it must be for us to transcend self.
I do not speak from religion, although religion is describing the same process. The process is scientific and universal, no matter our religion. God is God and Jesus is Jesus, no matter the names we assign to them. And, they are both real and experiential, not just theoretical.
In simple terms, the stages of soul growth are three. Dependency, Self Actualization, and Self Transcendence. Self Transcendence is the stage of the mystics. Beyond the physical body there are many more stages as My Father’s Mansion (Heaven) has many rooms.
