Thank goodness!! I’m hoping they full the cigarette shelves with freeze dried kale and ground tomato seeds. Rock on!!
There are benefits to smoking tobacco.
You are too stupid to realize them or do any research, which I am not going to do for you.
An occasional cigarette can improve your health with certain illnesses.
I for one stayed awake for many midwatches, able to function on little to no sleep, saving a shipload of sailors from possible catastrophy, you're welcome.
p.s. choke on your non- dairy, no sugar, soy latte' ya moron
Smokers either lay in a supply a couple of times a month, or buy every day. And as a rule, I think they’d crawl across broken glass for nicotine.
Stop & Shop is a grocery store so their core business may be unaffected but if smoking shoppers have a convenient alternative that also sells cigarettes then Stop & Shop will probably lose a customer.
*obesity and ebt cards should be in the crosshairs...*
Program them to only accept rice and beans, a complete protein.
*Smokers are usually pretty good about dying without running up costs.*
They pay their own way. I can see you ‘get it’.
*I see that if you don’t like something that has nothing to do with you or that you are totally fine with empowering government to force behavior on other people. You are a buffet totalitarian that is fine with stomping on people you don’t agree with or dislike. The second that you stomped on I will bet that you squeal like a pig.*
Come on! The point is to get from point A to point B. Cigars should be on the back burner along with the minimum wage-it’s a no win idea to start with-think ‘26.
*Who can afford cigarettes in this economy? Mainly poor folks, from what I’ve seen.*
VERY GOOD! There’s only one problem. Who sticks up for the po’ folk? They can’t afford expensive vacations and smoking is their pleasure. In an ideal world we eliminate all taxes on the stuff and make sure the asian countries eliminate tariffs on what they call our poison exports. They do it for their own tobacco farmers. We eliminate all taxes, lower the price, the po’ folk smoke more and die younger. Who wins that argument? Gotta admit we’re right but does it matter? There are no Milton Friedman out there to run interference for us.
You disappoint me.
Maybe. I can’t imagine that it’s a big number. I doubt anyone goes ”Hey, I’m gonna start shopping at S&S because they quit selling cigarettes,” any more than someone saying “Never again.” Cigs and beer seem to be competitively priced just about anywhere. If I needed feeder goldfish on the way home, I doubt S&S would have them. The pet store likely would...and they sell cigarettes.
📌🚭 And harmful to others, especially youth dependencies.
Dis-honest relationship, putting another at risk
Emphasema, sucking for air.
Johnny Carson, realized, couldn’t catch his breath.
I don’t know many supermarkets that sell cigarettes and other tobacco products anymore. But its laughable that Stop N Shop claims this shows their commitment to community wellness. Obesity is the #1 health problem in America and a large portion of Stop N Shop’s counter space is still devoted to candy, soda, cookies, cakes, processed foods, etc. Its a joke for them to claim this is some community wellness drive.
After 55 years as a smoker I finally quit last February.
However the damage has already been done.
Sorry, people go to where they are wanted and smokers know that Stop & Slop is biased against them and profit margins are thin for grocery stores so this will hurt their bottom line.
Well, that’s their decision. Like I said, cigs and beer seem competitively priced at all stores. Groceries are not. The smokers I know usually stop at the smoke shop once or twice a month. It’s across the street from a good grocery store, so no big deal.
Without smokers Social Security would be in far more trouble than it already is.
They’ll ban vapes because it feels like smokers are getting over on them. Can’t have that.
Vaping made it very easy for me to quit cigarettes after 40-50 years smoking. I started with high nicotine in vapes and slowly lowered that down to zero nicotine within about 1 year and quit.
we all pay for smokers through increased insurance premiums...
we all pay for ebt cards and the obesity epidemic through increased taxes...
you disappoint logic...
Not me, I don't give a rats ass if someone else is going to do a post birth abortion on themselves as long as I don't have to smell their stench.
I have yet to have whatever a "latte" is, but suppose I should try one.
Somehow managed to stay awake through very little sleep loading bombs for Linebacker II and for a month of not leaving the flight line with just a few minutes sleep between working planes while sitting in my K-Loader or on a forklift during Operation New Life.
BTW, got a Joint Services Commendation medal for that from a Navy Admiral.
Didn't have to use the tobacco crutch for any of that.
Somehow we had no accidents even though we were "the walking dead zombies".
I have been vaping going on 10 years. maybe longer. When they checked my lungs, they were clear. This from a three pack a day smoker.
So I’m guessing another slew of stores will be closing due to a drop in revenue, good job S&S.
You are always going to pay for something someone else does. My insurance premiums jumped 50% because I was paying for Obamacare.
More profit for convenience stores. No problem. I don’t see this as a big deal and doubt it will make a significant dent in S&S sales.
