Clothes don’t make a person.
But they do make a difference.
Ha!
Welcome to the club, old man.
Last time I opened the door for a lady was just a few days ago.
Let me set the stage. There's a man standing at the corner of the building focused on his phone, (inside Raley's is a zero bar zone).
I'm approaching the doors from the left past him.
She's texting walking straight to the door.
I arrive a few moments ahead of her and say, "Let me get that door for you."
I waive my hand in front of the automatic door. The door opens. Barely suppressing a laugh, she smiles.
I say. "It loses some of its charm these days."
She cracks up, thanks me, and goes in.
The guy at the building corner guffaws and says "That was great!"
Maybe the men should match up: suits, ties and even hats for outdoors.
Yeah. It’s a loooong ways from SF Bay Area California.
One of the many reasons I moved!
How many suits do you need to have to pull that off? I’m sure you’re not wearing the same one every time.
My GF is much hotter and way more conservative.
I see middle-aged men wearing shorts, message t-shirts, basball caps, and sandals to church and to decent restaurants.
We have truly become a nation of slobs.
Never trust online pics. There are apps to change the shape of things, so to speak. One particular picture in this article looked manipulated to me. There are a couple of other angles and images that reveal the “straight” truth.
The width of a seat has no bearing on the fact that when I have to wear a suit for more than two hours, my body starts protesting, and I want to rip it off. Hate it.
Dress shirts all day...shudder!!!! It’s all nice, fairly tight t-shirts for me, except on the rarest of occasions. The person that created suit and tie outfits should be retroactively executed.
Years ago I dropped my son off to a HS dance. He was going stag.
As I pulled up to the front of the school and glanced at the girls I quipped “You should have hired a hooker as your date like all the other guys did.”
He rolled his eyes and said “I know - right?”
Just two, with a variety of ties and shirts (though I’m thinking of getting another jacket). For one hour a week it’s plenty.
I have been seeing a resurgence of young and older woman returning to dresses and more feminine fare, like aprons and hats. It’s refreshing and inspiring to me, as well, to wear dresses more often.
Maybe because she found a way to get a whole article on the internet about how she looks!
Really the door should be opened for almost anyone when the proximity is such that the alternative is the door starting to shut on the person walking in behind you.
You left out...they’re much more comfortable in those outfits.
My money is just as good when I dress for comfort, rather than cater to the strange fixation on clothing some people like you seem to have.
I knew that was you...
Sorry, I don’t deal in “maybe(s).”
