I only drink Corona’s
*** Now I live in Indiana, and we have a craft Called “Sun King Cream Ale” When I can afford it, I drink that.***
Whereabouts? I’m west of Indy.
As for the beer, Kroger often has buy 4 6pks of craft beer and get 20% off. They often have Sun King available, though I haven’t seen that particular variety yet. I used to buy Sun King for hubby all the time. Lately he’s been into Foggy Geezer brewed by War Pigs in Munster, IN.
Another of his favorites is anything by Jackie O’s, but it’s from Ohio, not sold in Indiana. If you’re near the IN/OH border, you might try to look for that. He likes Mystic Mama and Who Cooks For You.
Back to the thread, our son who has been in the restaurant/bartending business for 15+ years used to love when patrons would order a round of PBR for the staff. It was a nice way to say thank you for a job well done (served as they were winding down and closing).
I was in Ft. Lauderdale on vacation over 30 years ago, driving down A1A I saw a bar with an Old Style sign in the window. I had to stop. I sit down at the bar and order an Old Style and the bartender says “you must be from Chicago.” I don’t know if it was my accent, or because I wanted an Old Style. O.S. was number one seller in Chicago, sold better than Bud and Miller at one time
I quit drinking over ten years ago, but if a bar didn’t have Old Style I wouldn’t drink. Loved the longneck bottles. Guys at work gave me the business, said it was an old man beer.
My favorite is Bud Light Platinum. ABV 6% IBU 12 calories 135
It has a bold taste with a smooth, slightly sweet finish. It is at its best ice cold.
Those were great days and good work with some good men. One of the tings that made it best is nobody else wanted the job! Some of the very best of my times.
‘’Schaefer is the one beer to have when you’re having more than one...’’
Thank you for keeping me employed.

Health and convenience reasons have me drinking non-alcohol beers these days. Luckily here in Japan, there are some very delicious non-alcohol beers. Surprising, but true.
My wife and I like Kirin's Greens Free.
No alcohol no beer ! hehehe...
Growing up outside Philly, Dad always had a case of Schmidts in bottles, procured from the local “beer distributor”. That was in the days when the only place you could buy beer was a tavern (2 six pack limit), or a distributor.
We used to go to the Jersey shore, and Ocean City was a dry town. But across the bay was Somers Point, and a very popular dive bar called The Anchorage. In the day, it was 7 beers for a dollar, served all at once in tall glasses that held about 8 oz. each. It was an art form to carry them all at once away from the bar. I think it was Piels Real Draft ~ horrible stuff, even when fresh and on tap.
Now I am partial to stouts and porters in the cooler months, or a crisp Pilsner in the summer. Current favorite is Captain Jack, from the (local) Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.
"*gulp* And it's tasty, too!"
My son calls Hamm’s “Azz beer”.
Schaefer - the beer you give to the slugs
Worst Coors I ever drank was in 1977 at the Copper Penny in Farmington NM. It was so bitter I could not finish it. Had to drink two real Olympias to get the taste out of my mouth.
PBR on tap is great. Gennesee Creme is a tasty beer at a easy on the wallet price 17.49 a case near me.
Yeah, I don’t remember any that cheap, maybe before I was “legal” (I’m 70)

I just barely beat you on that price. I used to pay $1.09 per 8-pack for Wisconsin Club. Back in Urbana, IL. I believe there was also a deposit on the bottles.
