We also recall eight years of obscene deficit spending, after he inherited a balanced budget from Bill Clinton and Speaker Newt Gingrich. Bush also deserves credit for doing nothing about sub prime lending during his 8 years in office which resulted in the collapse of the stock market, at the end of his second term, and huge taxpayer bail out of Wall Street banks while average Americans lost their homes, their jobs, and their savings. Finally for 7 years he couldn’t find his pen to veto a single obscene spending bill filled with earmarks and corporate welfare.
