You’re right of course. All the pro leagues do their demographics due diligence. They know how much money people in a given area make and how many will go to games. The big 3 pro sports have leveraged every possible revenue stream for the last 30 years. Everything from concessions to gambling. Parking is $20 and up! That’s fine and I could afford it but I choose not to participate.
But the products are suspect at best.
At one time I was a big Tampa Bay Bucs fan. Drove over from Orlando for games. Eventually it came out that the team owner, Hugh Culverhouse, never had any intention of trying to win games or a championship. He used the team as a money making enterprise, which is fine, but he blew all his profits jetting around with his mistress while married. Again, that’s fine, but I don’t have to support it.
