A Night At the Opera: Day One of the Democratic National Convention
American Thinker ^ | 20 Aug, 2024 | Howard J. Warner

The Democrats made sure Joe Biden's big night would have him starting late, when viewers would be headed for bed.

With difficulty, I endured an evening of Democratic National Convention festivities on the first night.

In politics, both sides exaggerate their good points and distract from their negatives, but Monday was like watching a melodrama with invented realities.

I trust that the GOP and Trump campaign will take this event seriously and learn from the attacks upon the former president.

Kamala Harris came out for two minutes to tell the audience to cheer Joe Biden when he comes out, despite being booted from the ticket.

Biden himself did not get to talk till after 11:00 p.m. on the East Coast, though, way past his bedtime, and when most viewers have gone to sleep.

SNIP

The short six-minute speech by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez earlier, though, demonstrated her charisma and she delivered a talk that brought the audience to its feet. Sadly, it was full of falsehoods and platitudes and missed realities. Her speech was short on detail but it indicated that for Democrats, the unifying issue will be abortion.

Hillary Clinton, also spoke, and though not as rousing as AOC, delivered a speech that got the audience cheering. Her theme was breaking the glass ceiling for women and the time is now for the White House. But again, the unifier will be abortion. Hillary could not resist the personal attacks on Trump calling him a felon and one who makes fun of Kamala’s laugh. A speech on Monday means that Hillary and the Clintons, like the Bidens, are in the past.

The never Trumper bellows: “The problem is not with the staff it is Trump not staying on message.” Then and now Trump has appeared before thousands, spending hours speaking, letting the world know where he stands. “Staying on message,” is absurd talk.

No, the message is clear. My message is clear. Just need to tell you in person, much better way to communicate for me. This nation must:

1. Repent and turn back to God. Now.

2. Stop all immigration until a working system with enforced rules is in place.

3. Proceed with mass deportation of illegals.

4. Proceed to deport those who are causing severe problems here, or in other parts of the world (muslims, palestinians, gang members of all kinds, drug dealers and whoever else through wretched behavior wants to be put on the list). No quarter.

5. Fix the education system by force. No more liberal philosophy in the schools. Discipline. Enforced. Standards. Enforced.

6. All protests that cause damage stopped by force. Severe punishment or shoot to kill for rioters.

7. Fire thousands of Federal workers. Most are hardly working. I can document this from personal experience. Implement standards and work level requirements (not in place, because Federal unions will not allow it).

8. Absolute, ruthless, total crackdown on crime. Implement public execution for heinous crimes (violent rape, murders, carjacking where children are hurt/killed or anyone killed, etc., etc.).

9. Absolute, ruthless total crackdown on illegall drug trafficking and horrific punishment for those involved. Any crime committed using a gun punishable by death. See Singapore some years ago for an example. NO mercy, period.

10. Removal of almost all government regulation of business that is not absolutely necessary for public safety.

11. Bribery involving government punishable by death.

12. Any display of homosexuality or transgenderism punishable by death. What someone does in the privacy of their home is their business, but NOTHING in public.

There's more, but that is a good start. PM me if you want more.

Troll. I have a special solution for them. You would see amazing things after it is implemented.

The message has been quite clear. Perhaps if you listened to our side like you listen to the other side, you may pick up on the message.

One thing RATs don’t do is badmouth their own side when the fight is on.

“The problem is not with the staff it is Trump not staying on message.”

Yeah. Too bad it didn’t work for him in 2016 and 2020 when he got almost no votes. His method obviously is flawed. 🙄

Go away, please.

See that is where you are wrong among other reasons I fully intend to vote Trump...Trump has not stayed on message and many of these moderates do not like the name calling and that is where elections are won and lost, the middle as people like me and you are in the bag...

“until prices come down”

Oil field, refinery workers and gas station resupply truckers are paying higher prices for things too.

The Biden inflation is not going to get reversed. It’s somewhat moderating, but prices are still rising, most recently for beef and the shampoo I use.

Two-dollar gasoline is history in the USA.

Why Trump isn't worried about getting enough votes...

Listen to a Chicago resident tell you that illegals are getting $15,000 food cards and $5000 cash cards and getting their rent paid for two years. Donald Trump needs to start going and doing rallies in the deepest blue places you can imagine.

If enough people would vote for this, then why does Deep State have to steal elections...?

[Her speech was short on detail but it indicated that for Democrats, the unifying issue will be abortion.]

As the world faces the possible Biblical implications of major war between Iran and Israel in the Middle East and further possibility of World War III igniting elsewhere, the party of Godless Reprobates steps on the accelerator to Hell and the Lake of Fire. They think it's all some sort of joke.

Shaking my head in disbelief. But actually, I'm not surprised at all.

[1. Repent and turn back to God. Now.]

THAT is the message the Democrats need to hear loud and clear.

“Trump’s people need to talk to gas stations to put up Trump ’ll fight to keep gas prices down’ stickers by every pump.”

I recall when we were putting Post-It notes on gas pumps during the Obama campaign. It was his quote something about gas prices necessarily will increase.

Print business cards (templates are available) to drop at restaurants, restroom sinks, grocery stores, etc. “Trump won’t tax Social Security checks.” Mine also had the no-tax-on-tips thing, but kaMAla stole that one.

“I will wait.”

Wait for it ... In 2020, Trump got more votes than he did in 2016. He won the VOTES over Biden. Legal VOTES were swamped by ILlegal BALLOTS. Biden is the Lance Armstrong of politics; cheating to be Number 1 is not actually winning. It’s stealing from opponents.

Go back to Grandma’s basement.

You know God’s plan. It’s going to get much worse. No matter the amount of explaining, teaching, leading, satan is the democrats easiest and most satisfying way. That is the sad part. Being a democrat before all else. There is no way to be democrat and follow God’s plan.

I have a theory but no evidence as I’m not near wherever I’d need to be to have direct observations. I’m interested in the views of others.

The abortion issue was a product of the hippy generation in the ‘60’s. There was a huge demographic of college age girls who had been raised with strict morals because pregnancy had consequences. They wanted the freedom to have sex with men they’d never dream of marrying. Abortion became their signature issue.

Here’s the theory. The “sexual revolution” is well and truly over. Women are tired of being used and disresptectd. Therefore the alure of abortion as the Democratic party’s signature issue will rapidly decline.

Any thoughts?

I don’t expect many Democrats to repent of these evils, but if some do, perhaps it will help.

About all we can do is pray at this point.

“name calling”

Might get Trump a box of Life cereal.

It will not get him The White House come 2025.

“black”

Kamala is almost as Negroid as Obama, probably around 13/32 instead of 16/32. The vast majority of likely 2024 voters would think it is OK for Obama to consider himself black.
