Note that Russia did not try to damage the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, nor has it used the plant for leverage. It's actually safer in Russian hands - the events of recent days prove that. The Ukrainians are trying to damage the Zaporozhye plant with drones. They set fire to an out building near it and bombed a road that lies along large electrical conduits leading to the plant. The Russians occupy the area and hence the power plant but are not doing the crazy things the Ukrainians want to do.
There isn't objective reporting available for the instances, but Russia would not want to blow up or melt down areas it inhabits or occupies, whether that's 'captured' Zaporozhnye or the Kursk power plant.
Many have come to the conclusion that the only targets of value in Kursk are the nuclear power plant, or a buried nuclear storage facility with materials the Ukrainians could use to make a dirty bomb.
