After my first trip to Ukraine, a few readers wrote in or left comments urging me to check out the assessments of retired colonel Douglas Macgregor, contending he had the real scoop. I wasn’t familiar with Macgregor, but a bit of digging illuminated the retired colonel’s very consistent assessment of how the war is going:
March 4, 2022: “The first five days Russian forces I think frankly were too gentle. They’ve now corrected that. So, I would say, another ten days, this should be completely over.”
March 15, 2022: “The Ukrainians are being crushed. Even the Washington Post and the New York Times are now finally beginning to print the truth. Their casualties are horrific. We’ve effectively seen the Russians destroy three separate armies built by the Ukrainians. And everyone is starting to wonder what’s really happening. The truth is coming out that this war was not started by Russia.”
March 17, 2022: “The war is really over for the Ukrainians. They have been grounded to bits. There’s no question about that, despite what we report on our mainstream media.”
April 21, 2022: The current fighting represents the “final annihilation of what remains of Ukraine’s best forces. . . . The Russians have never been interested in crossing the Dnieper River. They were always interested in destroying the Ukrainian forces — that job’s about through.”
July 7, 2022: “It’s [Ukraine] already effectively a failed state, it could be erased completely from the map. . . . The Russians are holding most of the cards at this point.”
July 8, 2022: “The war, with the exception of Kharkiv and Odessa, as far as the Russians are concerned is largely over.”

Good, now we don’t need to give them anymore tax payer money.
Typical of a neocon to post the propaganda of the Uniparty magazine of record. Why are you still here? DU is waiting for you Biden Regime flunky.
Where’s Putin? Hiding in Dementia Joe’s basement?
Ukraine is the subject guy in the post below this one.
Rus Prepares Pokrovsk Storm. Ukr Troops: No Supplies All Sent Kursk; Rus Blames West Kursk
Where’s Putin?
You said earlier that Putin has been missing for a whole 3 days! You comment like a love-struck stalker. No doubt you have a poster of a bare-chested Putin riding a bear on your screen saver. Maybe you have some art where Putin and little Z-man are making out?
“Good, now we don’t need to give them anymore tax payer money.”

Most of the “US tax payers money for Ukraine” (as you say) stays in America.
It goes to resurrecting Americas industry, to the American worker, and it helps financing American made industrial machinery. Also we ship decommissioned ammo to Ukraine which normally would have cost millions of dollars to eliminate and throw away... instead we now get paid for them, by sending them to Ukraine. Instead, the ammo is being “decommissioned” on Russian military equipment and invading Russian troops.
I’m undecided on how much we should support Ukraine.
If Ukraine is showing real strength against Russia, what are the longer-term consequence of that.
Not just that the good guys win, but how would itaffect the Russia + China + Iran + North Korea combined powers versus the free world?
Douglas MacGregor is a professional clown.
About every things he says and predicts automatically turns out flat wrong and outlandishly false.
He is just as “smart” as his clone Scott Ritter (which has become a laughing stock for his beyond the scale misjudgments of reality).
Douglas MacGregor predicted a collapse of Ukrainian forces early this year. I can provide the link. The guy probably would have predicted Hitler taking Moscow in the Fall of 1941 or Japan taking Honolulu in Spring of 1942. War College is kind of an oxymoron.
When has China or North Korea done anything Militarily that would scare anyone. Iran pays other groups to die for them in the Middle East. The leaders pf these countries know they would lose their Great lifestyle if they used Nukes. They are not ready to die. Russia started this war because Putin’s yes men told him it would only take 3 days to finish.
It would be like the US invades Mexico, almost reaches Mexico City, gets beaten back to the northern Mexican states and now Mexico invades part of Texas.
Oh the disbarred English lawyer and accused fraudster again? He’s some kind of battlefield expert? LMAO. You russians used to be able to afford better patsies. Must be a rough economy.
He is a uniquely incompetent voice on this war even though his view (that the war is already over) has been consistant for two and a half years.
Do you know how screwed the Russians are as your railroad network is collapsing?
Collapse is a word too often used about just about anything.
It is never numerically defined.
Even Bambi can give it back to Godzilla.
