Report: Trump Is Mulling Over Firing Campaign Managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles
Gateway Pundit ^

Posted on 08/14/2024 12:44:04 PM PDT by Tench_Coxe

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly considering a significant shake-up within his campaign team.

Two former aides, who have since turned against Trump, claim that he is considering firing campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, according to the Daily Mail.

(snip)

“This story about President Trump being upset about picking J. D. Vance is bullsh*t. It is absolute bullsh*t. He killed it on this weekend shows,” Bongino said on his show.
I suspect strongly this was a leak from people who wanted another candidate for vice president. I’m hearing from some friends of mine that this is the Kellyanne Conway camp. Now, if you look at Kellyanne Conway and where some of the money in that sphere is coming from, there is an interest in Ukrainian politics.”

I don’t really think it matters much... Whether we’re talking Rove or Lizardman Carville or balding Kotter (Axelrod) or even Kellyanne Conway - candidates always win or lose based on 49% their skills, 49% the political environment... and maybe 2% the so-called gurus + other factors. And every cycle, there’s a new Super Genius Guru.

Mostly, that means nothing except a bigger paycheck to come for the Super Genius Gurus... and they quickly demonstrate what a waste of money *that* is.

If you want to be generous? LaCivita/Wiles were managing a campaign that was flying high and looked primed for a blowout 6-8 weeks ago.

If you want to be skeptical? Sleepy Joe was wandering around asking if it was time for pudding yet, they had nothing to do with it and I think a bucket of gravel could have run up the score.

To the extent they matter? I do think they’ve shown me nothing of value or skill in dealing with the post-coup shakeout on the leftist end of things... so sure, I’d probably fire them. With less than 3 months left, this isn’t the sort of thing where you should really get a 2nd chance.

You stumble? Bye. Next... It’s still all inside baseball stuff that I don’t think matters much in the grand scheme, but sure. You want to fire the 3B coach because the team hit a rough patch? Almost certainly won’t hurt and maybe it helps on the margins.

“The Republican party needs a Reagan leading it today. I hope our nominee can become that.”

Who wrote Reagan’s speeches? Who writes Trump’s speeches? I lose interest when Trump rambles...

...especially YOU >>>

I'm going to presume you meant Johnson and not me in your YOU.

He found out the hard way what was being held back from regular House members. It changed him.

When the sole line of attack is to call America a Third World country and a banana republic, it is a downer that turns off many voters to the entire process.

Here's, hopefully, a good tip...using a search engine of your choice look up Agenda 47.

You will find more than America being called a Third World country or a banana republic.

How would former aides know anything about Trumps current campaign?

Here's a novel idea...stop listening and all of your problems are solved.

Then you won't have to announce your disinterest to anybody.

It changed him how or in what way?

“Who wrote Reagan’s speeches?”

Do you really want Peggy Noonan writing Trump’s speeches? I do not.

I’m not surprised. Trump has from day one trusted too many people. Women are the worst. Dump them all DT.

I agree. I believe that LaCivita and Wiles are responsible for a lot of the RINO endorsements.

I don't think LaCivita's and Wiles' endorsements are worth much.

Trump's endorsements are and he is 100% responsible for those.

Mulling?

Either he should fire them yesterday for or retain them because he believes in the job they're doing.

Which is it? You don't "mull" over firing people. You do it or you don't.

Yes, 85 but not very active in the last couple years. The American Conservative is his mouthpiece.

It changed him how or in what way?

For starters he became one of the Gang of Eight members.
All kinds of intelligence became available to him that he didn't have access to before he became Speaker.

I would imagine "tread softly" became his new watch words.

Food for thought...
Leaders gang up on Speaker Johnson at ‘intense’ White House meeting
Three of Congress’s top four leaders had a loud and unified message for Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) when they met with him at the White House on Tuesday: Ignore the pressure from conservative critics and avoid a government shutdown on Friday.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) emerged from the meeting, which participants described as “intense” and “passionate,” feeling somewhat reassured that Johnson heard their pleas.

Three Gang of Eight members.
Tread softly.

Which is it?

I don't know, but I do know that I'm not going to jump to conclusions based on a Daily Mail article that quotes disgruntled former aides Anthony Scaramucci and Sarah Matthews.
