Stephen Moore is a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation and a senior economic advisor to Donald Trump. His latest book is: “Govzilla: How the Relentless Growth of Government Is Devouring Our Economy.”
The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is here to protect your interests, and to offer an alternative perspective on how to best solve the problems seniors face today. We need you. America needs you.
I have never heard of the organization and based on the acronym, thought it was the Appalachian Mountain Club. I agree his comparison is wildely off base as the two are delivered by different means. Water service delivery to the home is far cheaper per gallon than NG. On also uses far more water on a yearly basis than NG.
We will likely see the extinction of coal power plants in the USA in the next 20 years.
Even if costs are similar to NG the costs of running a coal plant are much higher.
NG also powers up and down faster, that means it sells for more on the energy markets.
England is the size of Ohio with 5 times the population. All about the economy of scale.
The cheap natural gas revolution happened b/c of far-sighted people like Trump who fostered
<><>modern drilling technologies –
<><>including horizontal drilling and fracking
<><>better and better technology
<><>to keep the price low for many decades to come
<><>the pace of US drilling technology advances far outpaces the pace of depletion.
<><>America’s natural gas supplies are limitless – a bottomless well.
AMAC is a conservative alternative to the leftist AARP.
So 1000 btus of NG is cheaper than 1000 btus of water?
Didnt know water could burn.....

Are you a petroleum geologist? I am at the PhD level, have been in Ops,exploration, frack engineering, reservoir characterization, salt water disposal, brine production, frack sand production. Worked for the majors and some major independents over a 20 year career still consult today.
That said you can take my words as not only expert but an active industry expert.
The world has 47 years of technically recoverable reserves left. That is at any price. Why? There is 8 billion of us and everyone everywhere is extracting at rates that cannot be sustained. Owen posted the real world numbers from BP at one point I personally worked on those number for BP. Shale gas turned around a massive decline in USA gas production it’s only temporary the shales are the source rocks the seed corn if you want an analogy once that’s depleted there will not be anymore.
Now people will say abiotic oil and as an industry expert and a honored member of Tau Sigma,AAPG,SEG,DGS, and multiple Universities staff researcher. No where anywhere on earth has any research team or individual proven , presented or had peer reviewed by any of the petroleum research societies abiotic oil. I have never seen a presentation at AAPG or SEG over twenty years of membership that proves let alone via peer review.
Humans are burning out 400 million years of fossil sunshine in just over 200 that by definition is unsustainable and it’s cold hard mathematical fact. The real truth is boomers don’t want to change their lifestyle so they refuse to look at the very real problems of resource depletion and resource management with respect to an overpopulated planet of 8+ billion souls. The climate commies have latched on to the very real issue resource management as a means to further their agenda th st doesn’t make the real issue of we will run out of easy to get hydrocarbons in 50 ish years far less when another four billion in Africa,Asia and India all demand to burn their share of whats left.
Thx for the input.

I do not know if you took global reserves and divided global consumption into it to reach 47 years. Or you may have gotten sophisticated and projected increased consumption and had that curve drive the reserves to 0.
I would suggest the killer — that the reserves do not have to get to zero — is the single item most readily buried under politics. You do not have to run out. You only have to run short. If you do, people will starve.
Oil and gas, mostly oil, is the lifeblood of civilization. You can’t get 10s of thousands of acres planted in Spring, before planting season ends, without diesel fueled tractors. You can’t get the crops on that many acres harvested before they rot in the fields without diesel fueled tractors.
And you can’t carry the food, refrigerated, 2000 miles to cities without diesel fueled trucks and trains.
Tell your kids to marry in Brazil, somehow. They have 3 growing seasons/year.
Geology does not care about politics.
