We have experienced the same here in Az. When I moved here from Ca I was taken back by all the drivers I did not know waving friendly at me as we passed each other. Now that it is turning into Ca it is a different one finger wave they give everyone now.

Ditto. Years ago, I joked that when I arrived at a four-way stop with another car, we’d spend five minutes with each of us waving to the other to go first and smiling. Now people barely slow down for four-way stops.
