ransomnote: The first 16 minutes of the 31 minute Rumble video cover Ukraine War updates. Alexander Christoforou and Alexander Mercouris each post some content separately, and then they combine their commentary in separate content under their business title, "The Duran." This is Christoforou posting alone, and for some reason he refers to Zelensky as 'Elensky' throughout his talk.
In the Ukrainian drone attack on Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP), one of the columns close to the reactor caught fire. The ZNPP had to be put in cold shutdown. Russia claims the plant is safe, and is in cold shutdown. (image from video)
The Ukrainians are claiming that the Russians decided to burn tires at the ZNPP. Christoforou kept laughing through this portion of the video - why would Russia spontaneously decide to burn tires at the ZNPP which is under their control? The Ukrainians' accusation is absurd and illogical. This act would provoke international intervention (NATO, collective West) and bring the Russians world condemnation at a time when they are winning the war.
In Zelensky's recent X.com post (posted in English), he seems to be using the fire the Ukrainians started at the ZNPP to demand international intervention (assistance). Christoforou considers this post by Zelensky to be an inadvertent admission of guilt - that the Ukrainians are attacking the ZNPP (trying to destroy it) and is hoping the world will blame Russia and will use it as an excuse to get involved.
Christoforou says the entire Kursk operation was targeting the Kursk nuclear power plant. He said, "We've come full circle." He feels like this video about the nuclear power plants could have been recorded two years ago.Captured Ukrainian soldiers say that the Kursk operation intended to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant, or at least the village close to the NPP. The plan was to get to the village in a couple of days. Rush into Russian territory, catch the Russians flat footed, and rush to the NPP area.
6 or 7 days in, it doesn't seem like the Ukrainians can succeed.
The Ukrainians have pretty much abandoned their 'blitzkrieg' attempt to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant.
There's talk that the Ukrainian drone attack on the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) signals that the Ukrainians are planning an offensive in that region, and that the Kursk operation is one front or distraction from a pending operation in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Christoforou doesn't know how the Ukrainians can pull off that kind of offensive, because diverting Ukrainian forces from Donbas to Kursk has already left remaining Ukrainian forces in Donbas high and dry, leaving the Ukrainian military in Donbas to collapse much quicker than anticipated.
This is Zelensky's last desperate measure to get leverage over Russia, and possibly get leverage over the collective West, over Europe, over the US, over the world. Because if the war winds down, or if Zelensky is forced to negotiate, then he's cooked.
So maybe this is Zelensky's way of both getting leverage over Russia but also trying to blackmail the West; 'If you guys don't give me what I want, I'm going to try to cause a nuclear melt down.' Zelensky's existence, and power are depending on the continuance of the war, so he's going to do whatever it takes to keep the war going.
So the Ukraine is digging in within the Kursk regions; they are on the outskirts of the town of Suzha (sp?)- they are digging trenches. So both sides dig in and then Russia just begins to use its huge advantage to demolish the Ukrainian troops. The Ukrainian troops are stuck there now - Zelensky should have retreated them 2 or 3 days ago, if he cared about his troops. His orders should have been, 'if you can't capture the Kursk nuclear power plant in 2 days - operation is done; get out.'
3 years of this war, the collective West/Ukraine is still hanging on to the propaganda narrative of the 'great' Kherson and the 'great' Kharkiv counter-offensive' wherein the Ukrainians rushed in and grabbed territory that was empty (no Russian troops). Ever since then, NATO/Ukraine has it in their minds that moving fast, seizing land will force Russians to retreat. The Russian Foreign Ministry is promising a big retaliation in response to Kursk. Christoforou says the fact that it came from the Foreign Ministry and not the Ministry of Defense elevates the seriousness of the threat.
4 or 5 Russian missiles hit the outskirts of Kyiv yesterday, along with 57 drones. But a big response from Russia is still expected.
The recent 'narrative' that Putin is enraged by the Ukrainian occupation in the Kursk region is a bit twisted from the truth.ALexander Mercouris said that the Ukrainian brigade(s) massed near the border with Russia. Russians had to know they were there but did nothing. Mercouris believes they assumed the Ukrainian forces were massed to defend against an anticipated Russian offensive in the Sumy region. So the Russian forces did not take the most rudimentary steps in setting up defensive lines etc. Mercouris said this is surely incompetence and someone(s) would surely be punished, fired etc. by Putin. So I think it's likely the 'Putin Rage' story is not 'halp! halp! The Ukrainians have us pinned down!.' Instead it is more like, what idiot(s) did nothing while the Ukrainians massed on the border?!"
PING in case you’re interested.
Because a dumpster fire would mean we're getting a new Russian "President"
Yes.
Thanks for including me.
Past comes back to haunt struck off barrister turned Russia commentator
Disbarred for making a series of outlandish assertions - including the claim that he had been kidnapped and blackmailed by one of Britain’s most senior judges - former barrister Alexander Mercouris’ credibility had surely hit rock bottom.
Indeed the Bar Standards Board described his behaviour as “unhelpful and profoundly dishonest”.
Within a few years however Mr Mercouris had managed to reinvent himself, using his powers of persuasion to become a commentator on world affairs for Russian TV news outlets and websites.
He is regularly interviewed by the pro-Putin news channel RT, which is funded by the Russian government, for his views about topics such as the Ukraine crisis, the defection of US whistle-blower Edward Snowden and Syria.
But his past is now threatening to come back to haunt him.
One of Mr Mercouris’s former legal clients is suing him for damages over his “appalling” behaviour towards her in the case which led to him being struck off.
Lorna Jamous is taking the former barrister to court, claiming he caused her psychological and financial damage after lying to her in an action she brought against Westminster Council after her son was taken into care for a year.
You didn’t read any of the thread so you don’t know it was a video by Alexander Christophoryou.
Except that you spend most of your commentary quoting the crooked lawyer.
Still not reading the thread I posted? Why waste my time?
You waste your own time by posting that Duran garbage.
You should learn to read. I posted Zelensky’s X.com post. Surely you’re not afraid of that?
You’re right. From now on he should only post articles from sources you approve of. I just don’t know what he was thinking. /s
Tell Maduro that he can become PM of Britain, after all, how much worse could he be than what England has already.
Interesting that woody shittler knows that Alexander is part of The Duran...
Idiot.
It was an Alexander Mercouris post.
Are you still sad that your Democrat pals failed on July 13th?
Snake has another little quaint place that he and a few other venomous cretins hang out, whine, gossip, and pout.
He will slink on back there after he gets his arse handed him. LOL
