In photo, Walz is wearing a camo hat bearing the U.S. Army Special Forces crest. Walz was never a member of the Special Forces. Wearing a hat in support of such a prestigious organization is frowned upon in military veteran circles.

Walz’s slobbering at the public trough: multiple govt pensions, gold-plated health care, plus whatever he slobbed up took from the miliary $$grab bag.

$100,000 US House pension, $60,000 Social Security,$ 40,000 annual compounded interest [403(b) - 2 accounts], $ 40,000 gubernatorial pension, $ 30,000 National Guard retirement pay. Total $270,000 total annual tax dollars in Walz's pocket......plus.

I often wear a simple dark blue ballcap with U.S. Navy Veteran in gold embroidery on the front. I would never attach a Navy SEAL Trident patch, crest, metal Trident or any SEAL team patch, as much as I admire those guys.

The only things I have attached to the front of my cap is my E-6 Crow (stripes) from my final active duty and a small winged emblem that represents Aviation Boatswains Mate, which I was and definitely earned by the countless hours on the Flight Deck. Some Veterans have so much attached to their ball caps, I wonder how those guys stay vertical. LOL.

The general thinking is if someone didn't serve in a Spec-Ops unit, they haven't earned the right to wear the emblem. Things could have changed since my last Discharge in 1987.

May be the owner of the cap let him wear it just for a quick photo-op. There is so much more wrong with Walz's comments. My focus is on his claim he went to war having been deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom. He never specifies that he was deployed to Italy as a REMF and never saw combat.
