The posted tweet says that the attack is being led by NATO. That’s not the same as claiming mercenary troops. I don’t buy that NATO is directly involved in military action as the Russian said. Mercenaries? Who knows?
NATO has been heavily involved with the Ukraine war since the start.
Polish ex NATO “mercenaries” led by NATO “advisors” is a likely scenario.
If media reports are accurate, these mercenaries are probably a high percentage of foreign special forces.
