I have no idea where you are coming from. Please quote my post so I can clear up any misunderstandings.

I guess I misunderstood your statement then. The Michelson–Morley experiment tried to prove the existence of the aether, which it failed to do. But it did show that the speed of light was the same no matter how fast and in which direction Earth was moving. So it did sort of provide evidence for (not prove, there is no proof in science) that the speed of light is a constant.
