And yet people walk around with fentanyl patches and don’t pass out instantaneously. He probably wanted a day off.

Why don’t abusers just carry around their fentanyl and dip their finger in it when they want an instant high, instead of using a more complicated route of administration?

The patches are a very diluted with a controlled dose for the patient selected by a doctor. They dont come in contact with pure powder and never get high doses unless there is already tolerance built up.

Addicts that can directly use powder fentanyl have an extreme tolerance to opiods and touching it wont do much for them.

However someone with zero tolerance can be incapacitated by touching powder of sufficiently high purity with a finger or two. With very pure fentanyl that dose would be invisible to the naked eye.

There is also carfentanyl which is 100 times more potent than fentanyl and really should be considered a WMD

It’s the nocebo effect leading to anxiety and panic attacks. Naloxone doesn’t work to reverse a fainting episode.
