Here is a better example to query:

What do you know about the history of Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal?

Blumenthal campaigned for the Senate in 2010 as a Vietnam veteran, saying he "served in Vietnam" despite being stationed only in DC and Connecticut.

When caught by a New York Times article during the campaign, Blumenthal said that he occasionally "misspoke" about his record and that he should have said he served in the Vietnam era.

Was that Stolen Valor? Blumenthal is still in the Senate today.

Yes, I and many others have been claiming that he committed stolen valor for many, many years. But Connecticut voters keep reflecting him and the esteemed members of the US Senator won’t rightfully censor and boot him from the senate. I don’t live in Connecticut, so can’t to much but complain from a distance.

Sounds like stolen valor to me. I can’t say too much about it as I did not stay in & had no intention to retire anyway. I left behind nothing I could brag about except I kept my nose clean & so was discharged honorably. Some of my fellow “non-lifers” I would have discharged less than honorably had I been in a position of command.
