When I was a boy, my mother made me eat eggplant. That was then.

That Eggplant is bigger than a Honeydew Melon!
It looks well formed and evenly purple ripe.
He probably turned it every so often, so the eggplant would not be proudly purple on one side and ghostly white on the side not facing the sun.
looks like the head of some of my classmates from high school ...

We have an enormous crop of cucumbers this year. I would guess almost 70 pounds. A friend has canned a lot of pickles. I’ve given a whole lot away and we’ve eaten a lot and Mr. Mercat is pretty sick of them. All from volunteer plants. The cuke vines are dying now and I’m tempted to just pull them up. One of the more remote vines was hidden behind and under the sweet potato vines and today we pulled four huge yellow cukes that were hiding. Those go to either our friends’ horses or to the compost barrel. I did grow egg plant one year. I got one small eggplant. I’m not a fan. But they have to be left to dry after salting to draw the water out of them.

Mother nature laughed. Too bad Roger Corman passed. He might have made a movie of it.
