A beachgoer discovered the drugs — wrapped inside a trash bag

That's a big trash bag, too, to hold 1,750 pounds of cocaine. Maybe the Post writer misunderstood, and it was 25 packages totaling 70 pounds. That would seem to be more in line with a value of $1 million, though I don't really know what cocaine prices are per pound. More than about $570, I'd guess.
