That’s why I joined the Outdoor Methodists years ago...huntin’, fishin, cyclin’, paddlin’ etc on Sunday mornings, right out in nature that God created for us to enjoy.

Yes, there is not a long list of dos and don’t on how to keep the Sabbath. The Pharisees had a list like that. They made it a burden. Jesus restored it to it’s proper place. He healed on the Sabbath and showed it’s true meaning. He went to church on the Sabbath, he performed miracles on the Sabbath and he said he was Lord of the Sabbath.

And this is very same Jesus in the Old Testament who calls the seventh day sabbath “MY HOLY DAY”.....Jesus is the Lord so that makes the sabbath the Lord’s day. John sees not only the Lord’s day in Revelation..well after Jesus has gone back to heaven...he also sees the Ten commandments in Revelation. Revelation 11:19.....thunder, lightning, the “tabernacle of the Testimony”......that’s the Ten Commandments because that’s the law we are judged by. In the most holy place, blood sprinkled over the mercy seat......in heaven we see a great judgement scene and the 10 commandments.

I have the blood....I’m not bringing my commandment keeping. I’m bringing the blood. And I’m accounted as if I never broke the sabbath, as if I kept it perfectly! Just as Jesus did and kept all the commandments.

What a Savior!......I can now delight in his moral law...just as David did.

If you get a blessing from being in nature on the Sabbath......as I do.......amen!

We do see some guidance on the keeping the Sabbath....the commandment and of course.....Isaiah 58......the only Bible Jesus ever had and so I don’t toss that either and I know the difference between Mosaic laws written in a book by Moses...and the moral law written and spoken by God in stone......and seen by John in heaven in the temple..where the judgement takes place.

Isaiah 58:

Isaiah 58:13-14
New King James Version
13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
