Is the Skyway Dog House still there?

Wow about 9 blocks or so from my old house. Would take the bus, then go under the viaduct to the beach.

I’m retired and haven’t been by there for a few years. When I was going there the deli store was attached to the main production plant, the entrance was right on Pershing Rd. they didn’t have the stand alone store north of Pershing on Morgan. I’m going to have to stop in, I miss those corned beef sandwiches.

That’s definitely the Chicago classic right there.

One of the few old places still around in that area. Calumet Fisheries is still there; just reopened after a fire last year. Mexican Inn closed many years ago.

Ah the Mexican Inn. I remember in my early 20’s it got shut down for serving cat meat in their tacos.

Yikes! Some family of the owners of the Mexican Inn opened a place in Whiting a few years back. I haven’t been there, and now I might never go!

That was back in the early 70’s. I doubt if that would ever happen again.

One would hope. But that place gets mixed reviews anyway, and there’s a good place for Mexican food right across the street.
