That’s like saying “it’s okay if mom didn’t do anything while knowing her child/children were being sexually assaulted.”

No, it's really not the same. If you have a hard time holding men responsible for basic adulting, that's your bias. But you're not convincing me that this woman had a responsibility to be a full-time mother AND the breadwinner at the same time. She couldn't be two places at once.
