I would not trust any doctor whose spouse has such an addiction because it suggests to me that the Doc is a moron!
As a rational adult (female, disclaimer), FIRST thought:
“Why wasn’t mom charged? She KNEW he had a habit of doing this and in some degree was an enabler of this behavior.”
ONLY rational reason would be: She’s a female.
She really OUGHT to be charged.
