That's even more of a reason for her to have withdrawn from the bout. The competition was deeply unfair to her and she should have never participated in it. If I were her coach, I would have insisted that she not step in the ring.

High level athletes do not think the way you do. She worked hard to get in that ring so she did, it was a bad idea, but she believed in herself. Riley Gaines still competed knowing she was going against a man. That is what athletes do.
