A 2004 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Z06 with a six-speed manual transmission has the following gear ratios in the transmission:

Gear Ratio
1st gear 2.97:1
2nd gear 2.07:1
3rd gear 1.43:1
4th gear 1.00:1
5th gear 0.84:1
6th gear 0.56:1
reverse 3.28:1

The maximum speed in reverse gear is limited by the engine’s power output and the vehicle’s gearing. Most cars have a top speed in reverse of around 30-40 km/h (20-25 mph). However, some high-performance cars may have a higher top speed in reverse, while some commercial vehicles may have a lower top speed in reverse.

Having tried this, cars become very unstable at over about 10 mph in reverse.
For the record, I did not do it in the city. I was in the middle of nowhere.
