I’ve experienced no shortage of issues with Ford coils and ignition modules over the last 40 years.

I have a fair sized collection of their ignition hardware junk.

Now everything generally works fine for the first ~5 years. After that you are on your own.

YMMV

Drove my 2000 for 10 years. Drove my 2008 for 8 years. No problems.

As long as your Ford collection does not include the outer section of one of the infamous Ford 2-piece spark plugs from the Triton engine, you are doing well.

We had an Expedition, and when the miles went up we gave it to our son...
He called and asked if I had replaced the plugs.
I said to bring it over with a new set of plugs and we’ll do it after dinner.
Not this one he said and you best ask around about it first.

We proceeded slowly and took our time, all day but it worked OK. Many reports of the NEW plugs blowing out of the head!
They only made about three turns finger-tight and not much more with the torque wrench.

A friend had the spark plug extractor tap on hand if the top half of the plug separated from the lower section...

FORD HAD A BETTER IDEA!
