Indeed. Not mention “Volcano,” the movie that has some very satisfying mass destruction in LA. Both goofy but fun and I watch them a couple times a year

These, and Lord of the Rings for that matter have one common attribute that bothers me in that the only thing that makes them unrealistic (/s): people being immediately adjacent to, even jumping over, flowing lava that is around 700-1300 degrees. In that proximity one would be burned to a crisp without e er touching the lava

In “Volcano,” the river of lava comes right up to the K-rails and stops.

Doesn’t leak through - the firemen don’t collapse from the heat

Too bad about the La Brea tar pits but I only saw them once in the mid-1980s
