I’ve noticed in my long life that people who are comfortably secure, emotionally, and financially tend to treat others with a high degree of respect. As one said, “what goes around comes around and you never know how some minor functionary can screw you over and you won’t even know it.”

Showing disrespect to the sitting president may cause him, when remembers, to reveal something damaging to someone who will use it. Say what you will about the man, he has survived in the most dangerous political environment possible, outside of a state college, for his entire adult life. He knows how to slide a verbal blade between someone’s ribs while simultaneously being nowhere in sight.
