THIS IS the moment Ukrainian soldiers shot down a Russian Su-25 attack jet.
The incident occurred near Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, the Khortytsia group of forces said on July 23.
Anti-air units shot the plane down as it was attempting to fire on Ukrainian positions, the statement by the group forces said.
The Khortytsia group of forces also shared a video that showed an anti-aircraft missile being launched and striking a plane in the distance.
The Soviet-designed Su-25, nicknamed "Frogfoot" by NATO, is a heavily armored ground-attack aircraft.

My personal experience witnessing our Spectre Gunships in action, totally worthless unless they are given total air superiority. Sitting ducks otherwise.
That said, have you ever seen the number of Gunship support personnel needed? And the amount of logistical support needed? I can personally recall one we relied on sat on the ground for a week awaiting certain avionics parts to be procured and shipped…..and another grounded awaiting a not so common MS 2000 series bolt….lack of one bolt ceased all operations.
