I tried a small speaker that uses a 1/8” stereo plug, connected to the “front speaker” output. But, those speakers actually use USB power. I’ll try passive headphones.

The RAM test function SEEMS to work.

use the spkr connection on the board where the power and reset pins are

For older PCs, the diagnostic beeps typically are sent only to the 4-pin header on the mobo for an internal speaker, not to the audio jack on the outside panel. (Newer PCs sometimes can do it.)

From your description (red LED goes out), the memory appears to be okay.

I had assumed that you unplugged the graphics card as a first step?
