Did God providentially spare former President Donald J. Trump’s life on Saturday, July 13, 2024? The front-runner presidential candidate could easily have been killed in an assassination attempt, had he not turned his head about an inch or so.
As everyone knows, Trump was campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania, a city north of Pittsburgh at an outdoor rally when he was shot at by a 20-year old with a rifle on the roof of a nearby building.
On Sunday, Trump gave honor to the Almighty, writing that it was “God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening.”

I am not saying whether or not God had a hand in this, but I don’t hear much about the one innocent person who was killed and two critically wounded.
To say God spared Trump it would follow that God chose one person to be killed ant 2 injured, would it not?
Kind of hard to reconcile. Just wondering if anyone had thoughts about this.
Yes!…without a shadow of a doubt absolutely yes! Trump is our modern day George Washington. God is not finished with America yet. Our job here on earth while we’re still standing and breathing is to seek God every day for protection over our nation our families our military and especially our candidate. Trump is a force to be reckoned with and the left hate him. He has the hand of God upon him and he’s a vicious lion ready to roar and after Saturday without a shadow of doubt I know God is with him. But we the people of the Lord God Almighty his army his remnant his children our duty is to continue praying for this man who evil desperately wants 6 feet under! 🙏🏻
Trump was saved by the Hand of God and the Breath of God. God’s hand turned Trumps head 90 degrees to the right just as the bullet was coming, but that was not quite enough. The wind (5 mph) was enough to move the bullet another two inches in flight - just enough for the miss.
So God’s Hand and God’s Spirit (wind) saved the day for Trump.
What is next? God only knows.
There are people who believe in 'evolution' and mere statistical chance governing us and deny the existence of the Almighty.
There are people, on the other hand, who believe in God and even that he is cognizant of our day to day events, transactions, deals, thoughts, and of course these people believe that President Trump's survival was assured by God.
There will never be enough evidence to convince skeptics or dissuade believers.
When Jesus was on earth He as much as said His miracles were performed so that people would believe in Him.
His life on earth was recent enough in historical terms, and there was enough of a reliable historical record of it, to provide enough evidence to those inclined to believe, to do so.
Imagine a professor of Classics or History who denied that Caeser Augustus ever lived. He would be considered a nut.
But there are LOTS and LOTS of historians who deny that Jesus was a real person, even though the historical record and chronology is about, pound for pound, the same for the two persons.
There are lots of people who will refuse to believe in Him no matter what.
My answer to your question, Thorium90, is something like this...
“None of us can know/understand the mind of God”
When my first born died suddenly at 21 years of age, from a rare heart defect, I was (am still am) devastated. I turned to my Bible searching for “why”.
It fell open on the very end of Job. Job has questioned God as to why he was so persecuted, and God answered him in explicit detail. Job finally got it, and apologized to God for “questioning His grand designs.
Go find your Bible, and think long and hard about your question. Maybe it will help you, or others who wonder why bad things happen to good people.
Only God can save America. But that will depend on America repenting of its evil and turning in faith to dependence on Him. It seems unlikely that that will happen.
God will slow down the bullet, but you still need to turn your head.
That’s actually not my question.
If it was the hand of God that spared Trump, does it not follow that it was also the hand of God that allowed that one person to be killed and two others injured.
You need not worry about my faith. My faith in Jesus Christ is well intact.
My question is to those who are certain God spared Trump - if God indeed spared Trump, does it not follow that He also allowed one to die and two injured?
That’s it. Not asking why God could or would do it. Just if ‘A’ is true then why not ‘B’?
It isnt a matter of human logic, perhaps?
We wonder why if A is true, why not B. Are we trying to make demands of God, that He conform to our idea of what is just and logical?
I think it is us who, even though we have faith, can only “see through a glass darkly”. All I have are questions, much like you.
