An article in the October 2003 issue of The New Yorker magazine (Title: 'Jumpers: The fatal grandeur of the Golden Gate Bridge') explained that the jumpers who had survived jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco, a bridge with a 98% fatality rate, revealed an interesting commonality:

As soon as they jumped they regretted doing it.

Kevin Hines was 18 when he jumped in September, 2000. After he crossed the chord, he recalled, "My first thought was, 'What the hell did I just do? I don't want to die.'".

Ken Baldwin did it in August 1985. As he crossed the chord in flight, Baldwin recalls, "I instantly realized that everything in my life that I'd thought was unfixable was totally fixable - except for having just jumped.".

Paul Alarab in March 1990. "I was praying for God to give me another chance."

So was Paul successful on his second jump?
