I hope there is a worthy champion. I suppose anyone who perseveres through for rounds at Troon to win is by definition worthy, but I’m thinking of one-hit wonders like Todd Hamilton and Ben Curtis.

Can’t get the broadcast... how is the weather?

It’s Scotland.... it’s as far north as Alaska.

Hoping Eric Cole finally puts it all together this week. Good guy. Good player.

After Day 1 the eventual winner will be more obvious in the field. So many play themselves right out of it after 18.

I like it when the wind blows on these links golf courses. I’m tired of the winners being at -20 or better.

I saw Rickie Fowler was six over… after five holes! Tough to overcome that. Is the wind howling? A lot of these Scottish courses are defenseless if the wind is not blowing.

The wind and the rain provided challenging conditions on Thursday morning. Leonard’s opening tee shot found the fairway, but so many others drifted into the right rough.

Sounds like weather is up

Players with the late start times are generally taking a beating. Who knows what the weather will be tomorrow.

John Daly took an 8 on the par-four 18th. I think even i could do that. Big John has always had his issues but pros are not supposed to take quadruple bogies.
