I remember reading about the disgusting woman over 20 years ago,with healthy twins,who rationalized killing one, keeping one all so she could continue graduate school. That was economic empathy and liberation I suppose. It was a NYT article written like it could be from the lifestyle section. The son would be well over 20 years old. I would like to know his feeling and if the mother regrets.

So true just reeks of liberal white privilege, if only the depths of horror the writer is justifying or attempting to desensitize us to weren’t so catastrophic. Banality of evil.

That’s all well and ghoulish, but the title doesn’t make any sense, as they didn’t abort the second child, how can it be “his” abortion?

Most babies with Trisomy 18 die before or shortly after birth, and only 50% of babies who are carried to term will be born alive. Of those born alive, the median survival time is between 2.5 and 14.5 days, and only 5–10% of children survive past their first year. These survivors often have severe intellectual disabilities and may require extensive support for daily living.

This is from a source believed reliable.

This kind of story is hard to use to convince people to become Right to Life people.

It essentially takes people to believe in a principle in spite of the great burdens and sorrows it will bring them.

In other words, people who believe in the Almighty and whose faith is strong enough to withstand stress like this.

One may not be able to 'convert' pro-choice persons to a pro-life point of view UNLESS he converts them to faith in God.

And that is a tough order, but not impossible.
