Those are some pretty raw stunts. I’m sure people got hurt performing them back then.

Just like the injuries the officer might have sustained letting go and falling off the roof when he saw the shooter. Thought of this when I read article quoting a higher up in butler law enforcement describing the officer as a “hero” that saved President Trump by delaying the shooter. Ugh.

If a major Keaton fan may nitpick, these are not the Keystone Kops. Apart from the fact that the cops in this clip don’t behave in the over-the-top slapstick manner of the Keystone Kops, Keaton never worked for Mack Sennett at his Keystone studio. This film was made by Keaton when he had his own studio.

Buster Keaton did all his own stunts, was freakishly strong (as evidenced by his ability to reach out and ‘grab’ a ride on a moving car) and a talented acrobat. I read that he paid dearly in his later life for the stresses he put on his body as a young actor.
