President Trump did not trust the Secret Service. That is why he tried to stand up. I think he suspected that they would make him disappear.
Can the RNC hire loyal, decent protection? Or is that not allowed? Not everyone is willing to die to do that job. Armed Trump supporters would have done a better job of guarding.

I don’t think so. He stood up to show the world he was ok, not beaten and we can FIGHT these forces of evil. That was remarkable leadership and presence of mind.
