Biden wasn't forced to step down because he was incapable, infirm, and the bad debate with Trump
Biden's polling numbers showed he would be defeated running against Trump. Everything now taking place is about stopping Trump from winning the presidency, and/or preventing a republican route of the 2024 election.
People who want Biden to step down aren't doing so because he's 'not all there' because Biden has never been 'all there' throughout his presidencey. It's because Biden would lose in November.
Having gotten rid of one loser, the Dems get another person they believe is another loser (Kamala).
Mercouris believes that Kamala is the only obvious, natural, realistic option. But with Kamala, the Dems will still lose in November, just as badly as if they would have if they kept Biden.Mercouris believes Obama and Pelosi want to hold back their endorsement because they hope that there will be an open convention and someone 'rather more convincing' will come forward (Gretchen in Michigan, Newsom in California, Pritzler in Illinois etc.)
The problem is that none of those people is going to come forward. None of them want to lose an election against Donald Trump. Therefore, all the alternatives are coming out and endorsing Kamala Harris, because better Kamala Harris than them. That is their calculation.
So Obama, and Pelosi and others who were the arch plotters behind the coup that brought Biden down know that Kamala Harris is not the ideal replacement for Biden. They are going to be left with her (Kamala) because there is no one else.
The very fact that Obama plotted to have Biden removed automatically meant that the the rival faction would want Biden to stay. Now that Biden is gone, that same faction, the Clintons, has united behind Kamala Harris because that's there way of keeping Obama's influence over the democratic party at bay. So we have a factional war, between the Clinton faction and the Obama faction, and we also have a fundamental problem with the election in November.
But Mercouris says, one way or another, we're going to get Kamala Harris as the Democrat candidate. Obama, Pelosi, and apparently Biden himself all believe that Kamala will lose in November, and lose badly.

Christoforou: Obama played his cards well here. Even though he was the person orchestrating the removal of Biden, Obama has not come out and endorsed Kamala. Even though Obama was the man behind the curtain, it was a smart move for him to stand back and let everyone put their cards on the table, to get everyone to endorse Kamala, even the Clintons to endorse Kamala. He says he believes Kamala is much closer to the Obama circle than she is to the Clinton's Democrat family or clan.
Obama doesn't endorse anybody and instead calls for party unity. The New York Times said Obama is playing the part of the elder statesman and 'doesn't want to put his thumb on the scale of democracy', but that it doesn't mean Obama doesn't support Kamala Harris. The NYT insists that on the contrary, Obama doesn't want to get in the way of the democratic process, he wants to rise above it. Christoforou says, "To me, this is classic Obama, isn't it? Classic, textbook Obama, how he operates."

I once called him President Macavity - the poem by TS Eliot, the evil cat - the criminal mastermind, he commits these crimes but the point about Macavity is he's never there. That's exactly what Obama is (ransomnote: I looked up Macavity in Wiki here). That's exactly how he functions.
ransomnote: I'm stopping my notes at the 11 minute mark. I really enjoyed listening to this video and am wondering if being outsiders to the US means their interpretations are more accurate or less accurate (or a mixture)- time will tell.
