Some have suggested that a sniper on the water tower took out the shooter. Saying that it appeared that a large exit wound was in the shooter’s right ear/ neck area.
I can’t remember where I heard it - maybe Trump’s speech last night, but somebody (Trump?) said the shooter was taken out by a sniper from a much longer distance.
In my mind that says the water tower. But (and now that I think about it - I think it was Trump that said it) - he might have been talking about the snipers from the rooftop to his left (stage left). Although to me that isn’t “much farther away”. But in a speech, and to give the SS some props, I could see Trump saying that.
One thing interesting in the NYT today notes that Trump began his speech an hour after he was scheduled to have started ... this is exactly what happened at J6 while he waited for the agent provacateurs to assemble ...
I had seen 1 article or post, can’t remember where, that claimed that there were actually 4 counter-sniper teams set up. One could have been on the tower, and that would have been the right view for the uncovered rooftop at the AGR building where the bad guy was.
There’s also a chance that they had someone up on a roof to the right (stage left) about halfway down the field where they could have set up a counter-sniper team. It would hav3 a good view of the rooftop where the bad guy was also. Farther away, maybe 225 yards from the perp based on my visual measurement on google maps.
I’d have had 4 teams surrounding the venue including the 2 behind, one on the AGR roof, and one on the other side of the venue. Plus, I’d have had a few eyes on that tower keeping a close eye on everything. And maybe a shooter on top also with a higher power rifle, maybe a 338 Lapua.
