I just watched a 9 minute video of street interviews of Japanese people responding to questions about the assasination attempt ( recorded Jan 15).

What Do Japanese Think of the Trump Assassination? (Street Interview)

As you might expect, their responses were thoughtful, varied in some respects, but uniformly against the pointless, destructive use of violence.

Two or three people noted that, "America is a gun culture," and wondered if the shooting would change Trump's stance on guns.

Several noted that President Trump and former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe got along well together, others said the assassination attempt on Trump reminded them of the assassination of Abe (July 8, 2022). I thought all who spoke of Abe did so with sadness.

When asked about Trump raising his fist, a woman noted that Japan is not a gun culture so the difference in response to the shootings was interesting.

I wondered why those saying that perhaps the shooting of Trump would change his mind about America's gun culture, didn't notice that Japan's rejection of guns didn't prevent someone from shooting Abe to death. According to Wiki, Abe's killer used an improvised gun. Japan's gun death overall, is less than 1/100th of that of the United States- I was just thinking about the assassination of leaders.

Well if he wasn't wearing an "I'm here to kill Trump" t-shirt, it's apparently unfair to stop the assassin from trying. Actually, it would probably be considered rude, if not racist.

Trump shooter's ominous request to his boss before assassination attempt revealed.. Three Hours before shooting - Crooks Triggered Metal Detector - and they let him in anyway!

It emerged on Tuesday that the killer penetrated the security area of the rally a full three hours before carrying out his attack, after driving the 50 miles north from his home in Bethel Park on the southern outskirts of Pittsburgh.

At 3pm he triggered a metal detector as he tried to gain access to the site, and was found to be carrying a rangefinder – a gun sight typically used by hunters and marksmen preparing to shoot at distance.

But security officers allowed him in while keeping an eye on him until he left the secure area a short time later, the official said.

He then fell off the radar until shortly before 5.45pm when an officer with the Beaver County Police Department saw him acting suspiciously near the outer perimeter and took a photograph.

Many people said that him getting up and raising his fist to show he was ok impressed them, and that he would win in November.
