IMO, the shooter, whoever he is or was, is or was a total hack. No good at all. A mediocre shooter can get a solid hit on a deer-sized target at 130 yards.
But if Trump hadn’t turned his head right at that moment, the first bullet would have been an absolute kill shot?
I think the cop who confronted him on the rooftop rattled him and may have saved Trump’s life.
He knew the clock was ticking and rushed his aim.
Presidential candidates often wear body armor. The preferred target for assassins is the head, a much smaller target. He missed because former President Trump turned his head exactly at the right moment for President Trump, and exactly the wrong moment for the would be assassin.

That’s debatable. I recall my first concealed weapons shooting test decades ago. The shooter after me could not hit a man sized target with his revolver at 20 feet. It was just laughable.
Stories of this assassin’s poor shooting capabilities in HS seem to reflect the same, he was laughably poor.
A typical lefty, not good at anything at all. Something like Lee Harvey Oswald.
