We climbed trees, skinned knees, and played outside for most of our childhood before the scourge that is the Internet came about. I say this somewhat ironically as a Gen-Xer who never gets sick but has a head cold at the moment.

I used to dig in the dirt, run around the neighborhood barefoot (looking like a ragamuffin), catch bugs, smear lightning bug innards all over my face at night, et cetera.

Although I have succumbed to the occasional respiratory illness in my younger days, in the past 25 years, I haven't gotten so much as a cold, not even the dreaded Wuhan Flu. No food allergies, gluten or lactose intolerance, nothing. Just the occasional bout of gastritis brought on by stress.
