At least we have good movies and shows from the past to watch again and enjoy. Anyone for Get Smart?
I had a DVD recorder 20 years ago - that seemed to ignore copyright blocks. I recorded 2 seasons of that Dr. Who that we put away and is collecting dust somewhere.
While I recorded I guess a few hundred movies of all kinds, my primary focus was on (historical) news. For example, I captured the two night episode of ABC's 'Path to 911' - which they immediately disavowed and suppressed (it was brutally honest about the Clintoon Admin!) Copies of that must be super rare. I offered a copy to Rush Limbaugh but he claimed to already have it. Another friend thought he had it but he only had the first night. 🤷 Every 911 we get it out and watch it. The DVD technology has changed - and is likely becoming obsolete now with on line streaming. The new DVD players won't now always play my recorded DVDs so I keep having to buy older models - usually used - and hoping for the best.
Generally I doubt my tastes follow much of what is discussed on this thread. Ironically, I worked in radio/TV most of my career - worked at ABC in the days of Peter Jennings and Howard Cosell and once or twice on Dark Shadows - I was a camera and audio tech. 'Ironically' because we didn't get a TV until the late 50s so I missed a lot of the early stuff discussed here - plus I went off to college so didn't see much TV until I went to National Educational Television and subsequently to ABC... ABC was privately owned then not by the grubby hands of Disney.
Gotta hit the sack, late and I had to go to hospital today... sigh
