If times get hard enough, children will be prioritized again.
It would be best if people valued children for the blessing they are instead of a labor pool, but such is life.

Metmom: the Orientals are much different. I was in Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. I visited many other Oriental countries. It is very sad to watch their men do zip while the women and even some children do work that American men usually do.
